About the instructor

Lesile Jo Shelton

Leslie Jo (LJ) Shelton is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Higher Education at the University of Arkansas and the HIED M.Ed. program coordinator. Dr. Shelton’s current work explores the learning and development of college students in the United States, with a focus on understanding and improving the experiences of minoritized students in higher education, exploring the learning outcomes of HESA graduate preparation programs, and engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Dr. Shelton completed a PhD in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education at Michigan State University, a Masters of Education in College Student Personnel, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminology with a Women’s Studies Certificate from Ohio University.
