Course Description

Dialogue about religion, spirituality and faith is becoming more salient in today’s society. Do you want to stay ahead of the curb on world religions and the numerous ways that people practice their spirituality?

This e-learning short course will introduce relevant terminology related to spirituality and religion, and examine strategies to foster spirituality on US higher education campuses.

About the instructor

Raja Gopal Bhattar

Raja Gopal Bhattar (they/them/theirs) is the Director of UCLA’s LGBT Campus Resource Center. They are a nationally-recognized social justice trainer and educator and have published several articles on intersectional identity development and the experiences of LGBTQ people, immigrants, first-generation students, international students and people of color in higher education. They hold a Master’s of Arts in Higher Education and Organizational Change from UCLA, a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont and Bachelor’s in Psychology and Hispanic Literature from Boston University. Raja has served on several national and regional boards and has been featured in The Advocate Magazine, Huffington Post, India Abroad Magazine, Hinduism Today Magazine and several other news outlets.
